20 years rigorous imprisonment to the person who raped Dalit girl

Ayodhya. Accused Ramchandra Yadav, found guilty of raping a 12-year-old Dalit girl, has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. Besides, a fine of Rs 40 thousand has also been imposed. This decision was given by Special Judge POCSO Act I Nirupama Vikram on Friday.

According to the Special Public Prosecutor, the incident took place at 9:30 am on February 12, 2023 in a village of Inayat Nagar police station area. The victim did not go to school. On the advice of her father, after having dinner, she was going to dig potatoes in the field. He met Ramchandra Yadav on the way and took her to a sugarcane field and raped her. On the basis of father’s complaint, a case of rape, SCST and POCSO Act was registered against Ram Chander Yadav, a resident of Bari’s Purva Nagahra, in Inayat Nagar police station. After the sentencing, the accused was sent to jail under tight security arrangements.
